In March 2023 had the privilege of creating a podcast episode for Nemeth Narratives. It was produced by the Nemeth Foundation in collaboration with the San Diego Filipino Cinema. I share about my past and my struggles with mental health.
At the end of the episode, I talk about how I want to heal by talking to other Asian women. I want to talk to them about how they cope with intergenerational trauma and their mental health.
Now, I have the opportunity to do it!
This podcast is being produced by the Far South Border North grant . I received this grant with 59 other individual artists and a number of non-profits in the San Diego and Imperial Counties.
A couple years ago, during quarantine, I made affirmation cards for Asian women because I had never seen anything like that. I wrote and designed them myself. I have had many women connect with me over them. It was nice to know they felt seen, and it made me feel seen as well. Therefore, I thought that using the cards to inspire conversations would be a good way to design the podcast, hence the name.
The work I want to do to highlight Asian Mental health and uplift Asian women is all coming together!
